Globe Correspondent Steps from the Public Garden, the five-story, 1842 Federalist brownstone that is home to Smoki Bacon and Dick Concannon would make a splendid setting for a Merchant-Ivory film. Sitting on the flat part of Beacon Hill, behind that stately facade, a family of Boston Brahmins once lived. Several years ago, the building was reconfigured into five large condominiums.
